Team Building at Asita Eco Resort
A jewel team building venue 70 Km South of Bangkok
On the way back from my Songkran vacation I visited Asita Eco Resort in Samut Songkhram province. The resort is located about three kilometers west of Samut Songkhram city. When driving from Hua Hin towards Bangkok on Asian Highway 2 (road 35), take the exit a few hundred meters before the Mae Klong River bridge, then follow the signs about 500 meters to the north.
I arrived at Asita Resort unannounced and the staff courteously greeted me at the car park and enquired whether I would like to inspect the resort. I agreed, so a friendly receptionist accompanied me for a tour around the resort.
Asita Resort is located on a quiet and romantic plot of land boarding a canal to the Mae Klong river. The atmosphere in the open air restaurant overlooking the river is phenomenal.asfadf asdfasdf asdfasdf asdfadsf.
The Mae Klong River begins North of Kanchanaburi Khwae as the (Kwai) river and empties just five kilometers South of Asita Resort into the Gulf of Thailand.
A large selection of team building activities can be done along the river such as exploring ancient mystic temples as part of the cultural discovery, a market barter activity at Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, a raft building and racing challenge or CSR team building activities like mangrove planting renovating local schools and orphanages.
Conveniently located half way between Bangkok and Cha Am, Asita resort is a perfect location for arranging a luncheon or stop-over on
the way to a larger team building and business outing in Hua Hin or Prachuap Khiri Khan.
We continued our tour to the 42 sqm Deluxe Villa, that consists of a twin or double bed, a comfortable sofa, a working desk as well as a separate outdoor garden and direct access to the canal which is used as a swimming pool by the hotel guest.
We stopped at the spacious meeting facilities that can fit 100 participants on round tables for a team building seminar.
The highlight of the tour was undoubtedly the Thai House, which consists of two rooms on the second floor, the 30 sqm Thai Deluxe and the 60 sqm Thai Suite. The setting is traditional Thai style with antique furniture and a breathtaking view from the balcony over the lush tropical garden to the mystic river.
The 16,000 square meter resort consists of a gigantic and well maintained lawn that is easily accessible from the conference
room. This lawn was in the past used by Centara Group for their annual team building event.
The lovely atmosphere, well trained and hospitable staff as well as the right infrastructure makes it a suitable location for some of our top team building events like:
- The five dysfunctions of a team
- Six Indisputable Laws of team work
- Cultural Discovery
- Jungle Survivor
At the end of the inspection trip I had the pleasure to visit Asita Viomolchaichit, the owner of the resort. Asita epitomizes the style, professionalism and hospitality of the resort and her enthusiasm was contagious.
We were planning to use Asita Resort as a team building venue for our upcoming group from Bangkok. The resort’s staff also facilitates team building activities in Thai language and that makes it a perfect partner for our events.
Asita accompanied us to the car park and bid farewell.
We left Asita Resort back to highway 35, continued over the Me Klong River and passed Samut Sonkrhran on the way to Bangkok.
I look forward to sending the first team building group to Asita Resort.
